The United States of America (USA), commonly referred to as the United States (US) or America, is a federal republic located in North America on Earth's Northern Hemisphere.
History
Following the release of a deadly virus in Gotham City which was driving the infected insane, the government deployed the National Guard there to help deal with the situation.[1]
Following Gotham's bridges being blown up which led to the power being cut off and supervillains claiming their own territory, the government deemed the city a No Man's Land zone and it was cut off from the rest of the country without help. Although a delta force was eventually sent in to deal with the situation, they had their own sinister agenda for helping out, which forced the remaining residents (that being civilians, police and criminals alike) to band together and protect the city.
