The Soul of the Rose was a 1908 painting by the English painter John William Waterhouse. It was owned by Barbara Kean, who had it displayed at her weapons business until the building was destroyed by the Cobblepot crime family.
History[]
After she was resurrected by Ra's al Ghul, Barbara opened a weapons business in Gotham City where she also put some older paintings on display.[1] The Soul of the Rose was on a wall behind one of the armchairs.[2]
Like all the other paintings in the building, The Soul of the Rose was most likely destroyed when the Penguin had Barbara's weapon business destroyed by Victor Zsasz, who used a rocket launcher to blow up the building. If the painting by some miracle survived the explosion, it was most likely devoured by the flames when the building burned to the ground.[3]

Notes[]
- The Soul of the Rose is a real 1908 painting by English painter John William Waterhouse (1849–1917). In real life, the oil on canvas painting is currently part of a private collection, with the painting used as a prop for the filming of Gotham obviously being a reproduction of the precious original.
