Notes[]
- In the DC Comics, Captain Jon Logerquist was a Norwegian mercenary who founded Gotham City in the year 1635. The city was later taken over by the British government.[3]
- This story is a parallel to the origins of New York, which was also originally founded by the Dutch and named "New Amsterdam", but later taken over by the British. In fact, Gotham City is heavily inspired by New York City and the TV series Gotham was also shot in New York.
- The Logerquist Towers, two connected circular towers, previously appeared in the 2015 video game Batman: Arkham Knight as an allusion to Gotham City's origins.
Trivia[]
- In the episode "A Dark Knight: No Man's Land", it appears that the building taken over by Mother and Orphan is an orphanage, as it is shown that there are multiple small beds and toys. However, it is later revealed to actually be a hotel in "Legend of the Dark Knight: Trespassers".
- The name of the hotel was only briefly visible on a poster shown in "Trespassers".
