The crossobw was a weapon used by Tabitha Galavan, the assassin known as the Tigress.
History[]
During No Man's Land, a helicopter carying supplies crashed into a warehouse in Old Gotham. When Oswald Cobblepot and his henchmen tried to claim the supplies, Tabitha Galavan planned to capitalize on the opportunity and kill him in order to avenge the death of her beloved boyfriend Butch Gilzean. Tabitha used her crossbow to murder two of Penguin's bodyguards. However, Tabitha's attempt on the Penguin's life ultimately failed and she was then in turn killed by Cobblepot, who stabbed through her chest with a sharp knife, fatally piercing her heart.[1]

Notes[]
- Tabitha's crossbow is an allusion to the Tigress' Crossbow. In DC Comics, it is the signature weapon of the character. Tabitha Galavan is the Gotham version of the villain Tigress, but did not use a crossbow as her weapon of choice until her final appearance in "Year Zero".
- Before Gotham was cancelled and only given a shortened final season to wrap things up, it was originally planned that Tabitha would fully embrace her villain identity as the Tigress, the supervillainess from the Batman comics on which she is based on. The Tigress would have been one of the big bads during the No Man's Land storyline in the originally planned season 5 that would have consisted of 22 episodes. However, when Gotham was cancelled and only given a total of 12 episodes to wrap things up in season 5, the Tigress arc had to be abandoned and it was decided to kill Tabitha off in the season premiere.[2][3]
- While Tabitha did not fully transform into the Tigress as originally planned, she was previously called "The Tigress" in the episode "A Dark Knight: Stop Hitting Yourself" and referred to as "The Tiger Lady" in the season 2 episode "Rise of the Villains: By Fire".
- This is the first live-action appearance of Tigress' crossbow. A second version later appeared in the 2020 TV series Stargirl.
