Biography[]
Ronald Danzer was a politician who set up and carried out a Ponzi scheme. At the same time a newscast was reporting live from outside of his home, Danzer hid out in his apartment telling his lawyer to take care of the situation by paying whatever bribes were needed. After finishing the call, Danzer then proceeded to sneak outside to escape the news reporters, and angry citizens, only to be intercepted and killed by the Balloonman minutes later. Balloonman confronted him as he tried to escape, tying a weather balloon to his wrist and making him fly away, escaping in the ensuing panic. Danzer rose high above the Gotham skyline, either suffocating from a lack of air or plunging to his death when the balloon popped from the air pressure around it.
Danzer's activities and unpopularity meant that catching his killer was hardly a priority for the GCPD in general.[1]
