  • Hey Darknight2149, I hope all is well.

Just wanted to let you know that dummy edits aren't the best course of action, it doesn't bother me at all but I think it would be better to just add notes in the editing source. Or don't, I don't really mind - just giving a suggestion.

Also, as you can tell, none of us have really been active, so I'm looking for some extra mods who are active and suitable enough for the job. Haven't found anyone in particular, do you have any suggestions?

    • Alright, thanks for the advice. I plan catching up and monitoring the articles whenever I get a chance. I have a lot of stuff going on elsewhere, though, so it can be difficult to keep track of everything.

I do have a few suggestions for mods. I'll need to check if they're still active first, though. I'll let you know.

    • Ashtheuncanny just volunteered. Their recent contributions have gotten a little better, but I don't really trust them with full admin rights. Do you think I should promote them to content mod and see how they handle it?

  • Hey Darkknight2149, in case you haven't read the Community Central blog from earlier this week, Fandom officially announced the Editor Rewards program. Fandom has been looking for ways to give back to users for the work they've done. Recently they have done things such as buy movie tickets, or offer products from their favorite fandoms. Stay tuned as perhaps you, your co-admins, or other contributors for this wiki may even be eligible!

If you have any questions, feel free to comment on the blog so the Editor Experience team can answer directly.

  • Have you seen this yet? I thought it was pretty interesting and revealing, though I don't recall if it necessarily clashes with anything in that episode.

Do we have a citation template of some kind for deleted scenes? Just so we can avoid instances of people editting out the info because they've never seen the deleted scene in question.

  • Well what do you think? Is Danny Cannon's word enough to start adding the info to the respective pages? Or do we wait for more confirmation from the show?

    • Watching the episode now since it was released early by Epix and it seems that the first meeting between Alfred and Thomas doesn't happen according to how Alfred said it happened on Gotham back in Season 4. Could attribute it to be a story told by Alfred, but I'll see if other issues pop up.

    • Alfred's old, his memory must've changed.

Even if that were the case, they have to explain how Alfred's eyes change from blue (the recessive gene) to brown (the dominant gene).

    • Okay, having watched the first ep through it all, they've actually given a good reason as to why Alfred would tell a different story to Bruce about what happened as compared to what actually took place on Pennyworth.

I'm torn actually. I wish we had more to go on rather than an "I think so" from Danny Cannon.

    • It's hard to say. I haven't seen the pilot and they have been going back and forth since the announcement.

(Sorry I haven't had much time to edit in the last few months; I'm going to try to get on that. There was a lot of copy edits and stuff I was about to do before I got sidetracked in real life).

  • Hello there, Incase you hadn't noticed, I merged Jerome and Jeremiah's page to create a seperate "Joker" page. It's essentially shows both pages at once, as an archive of the characters presence on the show. I might add other characters as well, but ATM it's just those two.

  • I completely agree with you that the image im the Joker navbox is far better than the one I later uploaded, the issue was that scaling and cropping the image to better fit the navbox. You may have not noticed it since the edges of the image are very dark so it's hard to notice that it's far too small.

I'm very reduntdant on the whole "Joker lineage" thing when you consider that you only see it through two people and branches off several irrelevant, so it's less of a lineage and more of a heritage and character progression.

I was also thinking that we could start another project on this wiki like the Joker Mythos page. Perhaps an "Illusions to the DC universe" page instead of a catagory, and also the idea of giving all the main characters a seperate "relationships" section with the characters interactions and connections to other characters (ie. Penguin and the Riddlers relationship).

    • I believe there's already a page for Allusions to the DC Universe.

    • Also bare in mind that the showrunners tend to treat evolved Jeremiah as a third character who culminates everything previously seen on the show, even though it's technically the same guy.

    • I went ahead and protected Eduardo Dorrance for a day, because of the users' editing warring (and to hopefully push them into initiating a discussion instead of hitting "undo" over and over).

I didn't see that, thanks for clearing that up. It definitely needs work, though.

Bear in mind that the showrunners tend to treat evolved Jeremiah as a third character who culminates everything previously seen on the show, even though it's technically the same guy.

With the evolved Jeremiah, it's a charcter progression. The word "lineage" means ancestry, that would mean that Jeremiah is a predecessor to himself which doesn't make any sense. Lineages tend to involve over two seperate people, so in this case it's more of a leagcy than anything else.

(side note, incase you've missed the announcement - i've adopted the wiki)

  • This might be of some interest to you. Upon rewatching the Gotham finale, the Gotham Times newspaper that the guard is reading can clearly be shown to have the date of Monday, April 13th. You think that's enough for us to peg that as the date of those events, or should we keep mentions of it as "arounnd the middle of April" since the newspaper may possibly be a few days old?

    • Sorry for the late reply. Under "Relatives", I would put "514A (clone)" or something like that. As for the newspaper, if it's in the episode, it should be an okay source.

However, I would refrain from taking everything that newspapers say religiously if they only appear for a few seconds. Sometimes, the filmmakers aren't counting on people who aren't superfans to pause and read all of it, which can lead to minor mistakes. An example of this is a newspaper in Batman v Superman calling Lex Luthor's dad "Lionel Luthor Sr." (when it's confirmed to be Alexander Luthor Sr.), as well as various newspapers in other movies.

Sometimes, newspapers in movies will just use gibberish text like "Lorem ipsum" on everything except the headline.

    • Oh yeah I understand all that. I definitely hate it when a detail doesn't align or it's just Lorem ipsum like in Daredevil sometimes. However in this case, I think it's now a matter of things that won't be retconned or contradicted anytime soon because of little to no future material getting produced covering that timeline.

Just like how the Catwoman and Batman titles could be contradicted by a future novel covering the era and revealing that they don't use the titles yet, but for now are provisionally canon because no other material is bumping into it yet.

  • Hey, I saw you removed a gallery tag as it has the add photos button which you don't really want. Just as a heads up, you can actually remove that from galleries by using
    hideaddbutton="true"
    to the gallery tag.

    e.g.

    <gallery hideaddbutton="true">
    Photo 1.png
    Photo 2.png
    </gallery
