• In real life Andrew Sellon is a skilled ventriloquist, a talent he put to use when Arthur Penn became Gotham's version of the Batman supervillain "The Ventriloquist" in the episode "Legend of the Dark Knight: Nothing's Shocking". The producers of the show were not aware of Sellon's skill at first when he was hired for the role of Penn.
  • Andrew Sellon was later made an honorary member of the International Ventriloquist Society for his work as the Ventriloquist on Gotham. He also discussed the character and his work on the show in an interview published in the Ventriloquist Society's June 2019 issue.
